About Electric Tart Warmers
Each of the electric tart warmers you see above (with the exception of the bowls) use 25 watt bulbs and a switch. Replacement bulbs can be purchased in any hardware store for a few dollars.
While we recommend using a 25 watt bulb as per the manufacture, we have tested these electric tart warmers with 40 watt bulbs as well. Using a 25 watt bulb will not throw the scent quite as well, but the scent in the melt will last longer. Also we noted the 40 watt bulbs tend to "burn" the wax. There is no known risks, but the wax does have a slight burnt smell when using the 40 watt bulb. For safety issues and to extend the life of your melt, 25 watt bulbs are recommended.
Electric tart warmers can be used with any of our soy wax melts. When your scent starts to fade, simply pour out the excess wax. Be careful - electric tart warmers can be very hot! Scents can last anywhere from 2-6 days, depending on the scent of the melt. This varies due to the nature of the fragrance oil.
We purchase our electric tart warmers in small quantities, so we are able to offer you different styles and colors on a regular basis. Be sure to watch our newsletter or
blog for details on when new electric tart warmers are added to our online store.
About Ceramic Bowls
The bowls were placed in the electric tart warmers category because they have a similar purpose - to melt our soy wax melts. The bowls are to be used with candle warmer plates as shown in the picture. Plates are sold separately at many general stores.
Candle warming plates are not recommended to be used with any of our candles due to safety issues. Our candle jars have not be approved for use on candle warmer plates, and could break. Instead, we offer the ceramic bowls to be used with our soy wax melts and candle warmers. These ceramic bowls are wonderful if you want to get more use out of your warmer plates, and have been specially designed to work with the plates. Using the bowls make great electric tart warmers which do not require light bulbs!
About Soy Wax Melts
Soy wax melts can be purchased separately in many different size packages. Choose from over 50 different scents to be used in your electric tart warmer! You can see all the different types of soy melts available by choosing "Melts & Tealights" from the navigation to your left. Seasonal sample packs and same scent packs are always available.
Soy wax melts come without dyes, so they will not clash or stain your electric tart warmers. They are made using only 100% soy wax and a small amount of beeswax, without any extra additives or dyes.
Why are they called melts instead of tarts?
The term "tarts" is a trademark of Yankee candles. We are not permitted to use this term for wax potpourri since they may be confused with the Yankee brand, so we choose to call them "melts".
Even though we say "electric tart warmers", when using our melts they are technically electric
melt warmers. Since more are familiar with the term "tart", we choose to use "tart" when talking about electric
tart warmers.
